How To Get to and From London’s Heathrow Airport

London’s Heathrow Airport is one of the largest transportation centers in the world. For visitors new to London, it can be confusing getting to Heathrow Airport or finding your way out. Luckily, there are many options that get you out of the terminal and into the city as quickly as possible or transport you from the center back to your airport check-in area.

Heathrow Airport has a variety of ways and price point options visitors can use to get to and from the terminals. Plan your way of getting from Heathrow Airport well before you arrive so you can worry less about transportation and start enjoying your trip from the start.

Private Cars and Taxis

One of the easiest ways to get to and from the London airport is through a private car or taxi. This option can be pricey, but it may make the most sense if you have a lot of luggage or if you have a large party. Arrange for a private car ahead of time, or use a service such as Lyft or Uber. If you want a taxi, there are convenient stations outside of the airport.

The Tube

The most economical option to get to and from the airport is to use London’s tube system. The tube links Heathrow to most places in and around central London. Simply purchase your ticket at the airport tube station and board. Check out the maps to figure out what station is closest to your hotel.

Heathrow Express

Another way to get in and out of the city is to book London’s Heathrow Express. This is a train that gives passengers quick and comfortable service between the airport and Paddington Station in Central London.

Bus

The last way to get where you want is to book a bus ticket on the National Express. Buses leave every few minutes from the airport terminals and run directly into the city.
For even more convenience, consider using a luggage storage option while you walk around the city. Check out Radical Storage’s locations around London for easy storage solutions for busy travelers.
