Getting to and from Chicago O’Hare Airport

When you’re preparing for a Chicago trip, it’s crucial to have your transportation figured out as soon as possible. Thankfully, getting from O’Hare airport when you arrive and returning for your departure is easy as long as you do a little homework. Here are your O’Hare airport transportation options.

Public Transportation

The most budget-friendly way to get to and from the airport in Chicago is via the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Blue Line. The CTA offers bus and train options. Metra and Pace also provide public transportation routes.

Airport Shuttles

There are various shuttles and regional bus services that serve O’Hare, such as:

  • Airport Supersaver
  • Coach USA
  • Go Airport Express

The pickup location for these buses and shuttles is at the first level of the main parking garage near elevators 3 and 4.

Rideshare Services

Using a rideshare such as Uber or Lyft is usually cheaper than taking a taxi and quicker than taking a shuttle. The pickup zones for rideshare vehicles are:

  • Upper Level of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2
  • Upper Level of Terminal 2 and Terminal 3
  • Lower Level of Terminal 5 near exit door 5C

Remember you’ll need the appropriate app to connect with drivers for hire.

Taxis

Of course, taking a taxi is an easy option. There are designated taxi stands located outside baggage claim at the lower level curb at each terminal. Use these areas if you’re leaving the airport. If you’re getting to O’Hare airport, you’ll need to call a taxi company to pick you up.

Rental Cars

There are multiple rental vehicle companies that serve O’Hare airport, including:

  • Advantage
  • Avis
  • Enterprise
  • Hertz
  • National

Each rental provider all offers a free shuttle service that you can find at the arrivals curb on the lower levels outside of baggage claim.

No matter where you’re going in Chicago, you can easily store your luggage with Radical Storage.
